Brain dead

High School football players alone suffer around 67,000 concussion per year, these studies came from Time Magazines. Today I am going to talk about why we should reduce head to head contact, not only in the NFL, but in college, high school, and even little leagues like pop warner. And the effects from head to head contact. The problem is there are too many brain injuries in the sport of football, starting from as young as eight all the way to adulthood. Brain damage not only occurs during games but practices as well, during hitting drills, you won't just suffer from the painful hit but it will build up and can lead to brain disease or even death.
For example there was a former NFL player from the San Diego Chargers named Junior Seau who committed suicide and shot himself in the heart to preserve his brain to be studied by doctors. Doctors suspect that his brain damage lead him to commit suicide. Also a Kansas City Chiefs player named Jovan Belcher committed suicide from suffering brain damage.
Research shows from fox news  explains how young athletes can suffer from this contact sport. Taking on too many concussions and mild traumatic brain injuries can cause brain diseases later in life. For example Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy and even Alzheimer's diseases. There should be strict fines and penalties for any athlete who try to put another athlete in any danger. Also highly protective gear should be available to all athletes and should constantly be checked in order to keep our athletes, friends and family safe.

As one

As an athlete myself iv been involved with sports for about 14 years. From golf and soccer to football and lacrosse. Sports hasn't just been a fun hobby but also an escape from stress, a fun way to exercise and many lessons learned. Sports over time has taught me to use communication, leadership and to take risk. For me, public speaking or basic communication was one of my biggest issues growing up as a kid. I would never want to present projects, meet new people or talk in front of large crowds. I realized in sports I always wanted to be the captain and call the plays. Then I realized i'm yelling and ordering people to do things in front of hundreds of people and If I mess up its all on me, but I wanted to be a leader and I wanted to be the best at It. I thought to myself leaders don't focus on being the best in one topic but branch out into everything which helped encourage me in my public speaking. In my four years of high school I was a lacrosse captain and attack men for the team. I noticed that leadership wasn't just motivation talks and being the best player but being a risk taker and having persistence. My first and favorite coach I had in football never congratulated us during a game or let us cheer for making a touchdown or getting a interception. He told us "act like you know its going to happen and its nothing new, act like its boring. Until the time runs out that will determine weather you can cheer or not." Sports teams always have though few players that can take a  team to play offs every season. But its scary when you run into a team  where every player is on the top seed. And that lead me to focus on pushing all of my teammates to the same level. I saw it as a group project. There's always that kid who doesn't do there work and makes others finish for them. I wanted to build a team AS ONE.

The Return

Lacrosse in the past few years has been one of the most popular in college and indoor major league men's. As it makes its way from the east coast spreading to the northern and southern regions it also spread to the west coast. branching out one of the most exciting contact sports including throwing, catching, hitting, blocking and sprinting. Lacrosse over many many years has went through major ups and downs being played in the 1800 by native american, it was later taken and changed into a European sport by incoming settlers on the east coast. From being played by all native tribes to just a couple groups of settlers the sport died off and has been only majorly played on the east coast. As the sport evolved not only in structure but in gear and contact it gained popularity and has spread across the U.S. It has also became so popular it has spread to almost all contents and every four years have a major event with dozens of different countries. with over 36,000 men playing college level lacrosse spread to all ages! men and women! lacrosse by Sports Illustrated has been stated to be the" fastest sport on two feet". It's not only a great sport to play by one of the greatest team builders as well setting up plays making bold moves and sharing information on the field. lacrosse is the peoples all around sport. Its not only physically and mentally building and working your body, teaching and and creating an all around athlete and even better person.
